I am available for public speaking

Last year I stepped into the world of public speaking for the first time.  I delivered a session as part of my work at one of the Microsoft Tech4Good events in Edinburgh and then I spoke at a community event in Glasgow. Public speaking isn't something that I ever thought I'd venture into doing but I decided to push myself and aim for the sky.  I was fairly nervous at both sessions, especially since I only got 24 hours notice because the Tech4Good session, but overall I feel I didn't do too badly. So far this year I have been focussed on my new job as a Cloud Solution Architect with Microsoft and running the Glasgow Azure User Group  to volunteer to speak at events but that's changing in the second half of this year.

TechUG

I will be once again speaking at TechUG when the community comes to visit Glasgow in August this year.  I'm looking forward to meeting up with everyone again and presenting my session on Azure Migrate.  It's a tool I've been using quite extensively for work lately so it's good being able to share the knowledge I've learnt with the wider community.

SQLGLA

SQLGLA is in it's second year and is the full day free event held in Glasgow.  It's main topic is Data Platform, however, this year they have a variety of topics on the speaking agenda and one of those is my session "Governance in the Cloud".   It's a topic that businesses are now having to address and I'll be talking about my general recommendations and thoughts on the subject as well as showcasing some of the tools that are available within Azure to help.

I’ll come to your Events

I'm looking to do more public speaking and would love to come and speak at your user group, meet up or event.  My area of speciality if Azure and I have a few topics that I can cover at short notice:

  • Azure Migrate
  • Governance in the Cloud
  • Azure Cost Management
  • Azure Policy

So if you'd like to talk about me speaking at your event please reach out to me, either via my contact form or Twitter!
