Weekly Update #86 - Happy Unicorn Day!
Happy Unicorn Day everyone, the national animal of Scotland is the unicorn so it's definitely worthy of celebrating! 😊
In this week's update I talk about the Azure news and then also what I've been up to. It seems like a lot of deadlines are all hitting me at once at the moment, full steam ahead!
A public preview feature that I'm excited is now available is the Start virtual machine on connect feature for Windows Virtual Desktop. This was a feature I talked to Tom Hickling about in February in our Windows Virtual Desktop Roadmap Deep Dive interview. This is definitely one that you should look to implement in your environment as it could save a lot of money by deallocating your virtual machines when you aren't using them but allowing your users the ability to start the virtual machines when they need them.
The other feature that has recently been released in public preview is the ability to download Azure Audit reports within the Azure Security Centre regulatory compliance dashboard.
With it being a four day week, there's been a lot of things to get to grips with and sort out. It does feel like all the deadlines I have this month are hitting at once. 🤣
One of the great things that I worked on this week was a livestream with my colleague Thomas Maurer, we finished off our 5 part blog series with a live Q&A session on Azure Landing Zones. The 30 minutes we had scheduled, went really fast, but it was a great session. If you missed it then there is a recording available, and I highly recommend you check it out. 😉
Grab your favourite drink and comfy chair and settle in for the full update either in video or audio format.
